Global I.T. Category Manager

The Global I.T. Category will develop and execute a global sourcing strategy for the IT category, ensuring Terumo obtains the best value, innovation, service quality, and risk mitigation from strategic suppliers worldwide.Drive procurement excellence, category management best practices, and global stakeholder alignment across all Terumo entities. Leverage Terumo's global buying power through supplier consolidation, contract harmonization, and strategic sourcing initiatives.Lead complex, high-value sourcing projects and provide executive-level sourcing recommendations that support business objectives and long-term digital transformation strategies.Job Details:

• Actively contribute to GBS and global procurement meetings and initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with Global IT, Regional IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders across all Terumo entities.
• Develop, maintain, and execute a global category strategy for IT spend categories such as software & hardware
• Identify and implement global sourcing opportunities to optimize spend, reduce complexity, and increase operational efficiency.
• Drive supplier consolidation and global contract standardization where appropriate to maximize value and reduce risk.
• Align sourcing strategies with business priorities, digital transformation objectives, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across regions, including RFI, RFQ, RFP, supplier selection and contract negotiations
• Build business cases and sourcing recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships in accordance with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) principles.
• Monitor supplier performance and establish global KPIs, SLAs, governance structures, and continuous improvement programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify innovation opportunities and value creation beyond cost savings.
• Drive cost optimization, risk mitigation, sustainability, and compliance initiatives within the global IT supplier landscape.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for IT spend categories.
• Promote procurement best practices and category management methodologies across the organization.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and gain alignment across regions and organizational levels.Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Strong financial and analytical skills, including business case development and total cost of ownership analysis.Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into sourcing strategies and executive recommendations.Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and cross-regional project teams.Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and ethical business conduct.Qualifications/Background Experiences:Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, including significant experience within IT procurement and technology sourcing.Demonstrated experience managing global sourcing initiatives and multinational stakeholder environments.Proven track record in negotiating complex, high-value contracts with global technology suppliers.Strong knowledge of software licensing, cloud services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecom, and IT services procurementExperience developing category strategies and delivering measurable business value through supplier optimization and strategic sourcing.
