In both the Allison Transmission and Allison Off-Highway Drive and Motion Systems business units, our team strives to Improve the Way the World Works.Learn more about this role and how you can begin driving your career forward!Role PurposeThe Global IT Capability Center & APAC IT Operations Leader is the senior leader responsible for establishing, scaling, and leading the new India IT Capability Center, which will serve as a strategic global delivery and engineering hub for all IT towers. This role oversees talent acquisition, team development, capability building, and the operational excellence of the India‑based IT organization, ensuring it becomes a high‑performing global delivery hub.This includes end to end responsibility for designing the GCC operating model, building teams from the ground up, establishing governance, processes, and culture, and ensuring the center becomes a world class capability hub.Experience standing up or significantly scaling a captive global capability center or GBS center—preferably in India—is required.In parallel, this role serves as the regional IT leader for APAC, accountable for operational IT performance, regional IT support, and site‑level service quality across the region. This includes leadership of the Regional Operations Lead and a dotted‑line Field Services organization supporting multiple plants, engineering centers, commercial offices, and remote locations throughout APAC.The leader ensures strong alignment with global IT tower leaders, Business Unit IT leaders, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and service management to deliver reliable, secure, scalable, and business‑responsive IT services across APAC while developing India as a world‑class capability center.Key Responsibilities1. India IT Capability Center LeadershipEstablish, grow, and lead the India IT Capability Center (GCC/GBS), building a high-performing team that serves as an extension of all global IT towers.Drive workforce planning, capability development, operating model design, and the onboarding of functions transitioning into the center.Partner with global tower leaders to build distributed teams in areas such as applications, digital platforms, data/analytics, cybersecurity, service management, and enterprise operations.Develop a strong engineering, delivery, and support culture within the center.Develop and mature delivery processes, cross‑tower collaboration patterns, and SLAs for all center-delivered services.Drive team capability building, career development frameworks, and a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.Ensure the center operates with global standards for quality, process maturity, and performance.2. APAC IT Operations LeadershipLead all IT operational activities for the APAC region, ensuring availability, reliability, performance, and responsiveness across plants, offices, and remote sites.Manage the Regional Operations Lead and coordinate delivery across global towers to resolve incidents, deploy changes, and support key business operations.Act as the senior escalation point for APAC IT operations.Drive continuous improvement in service stability, major incident management, and regional ITSM KPI performance.3. Field Services (Dotted-Line Leadership Across APAC)Provide functional leadership and governance for APAC Field Services teams via a dotted-line structure.Define regional standards, tools, procedures, and performance expectations for onsite IT support.Ensure Field Services align with business needs, plant operations, and global support models.Drive improvements in technician capability, site readiness, hardware lifecycle, and regional coverage.4. Global Tower Collaboration & Delivery CoordinationServe as the primary India-based leadership interface for global tower leaders (Digital Platforms, Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, Service Management, Data/AI, etc.).Ensure smooth coordination between India-based teams and global tower teams for delivery, operations, engineering, and innovation.Promote consistent global processes, communication standards, tooling, and performance expectations.5. Regional Business PartneringBuild strong relationships with APAC business leaders, site operations leaders, and functional teams.Translate regional business priorities into aligned IT support plans and delivery roadmaps.Ensure business responsiveness through proactive communication, timely delivery, and aligned expectations.6. Capability, Talent & Organizational DevelopmentRecruit, develop, and retain top talent at the India IT Capability Center across engineering, applications, operations, analytics, cybersecurity, and service functions.Build multi-level leadership capability, technical depth, and a culture of innovation as well as continuous improvement.Drive skill development, certifications, and maturity uplift across teams in both India and APAC.Establish succession pipelines and cross-training programs.7. Security, Compliance & Risk ManagementPartner with cybersecurity to ensure secure operations, identity and access controls, endpoint compliance, and incident response readiness across APAC.Ensure adherence to global IT policies, controls, and regulatory requirements for India and APAC.Oversee local risk remediation activities and ensure regional audit readiness.8.
