Global Logistics Manager - Fresh

Kroger is seeking a Senior Manager of Global Logistics to oversee the day-to-day execution of our international fresh import supply chain. This role is ideal for a logistics leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and has deep expertise moving perishable products across global transportation networks.The Senior Manager will play a critical role in ensuring produce, protein, seafood, and other fresh commodities arrive safely, efficiently, and on time. This leader will collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs partners, sourcing teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain world-class cold-chain performance and service reliability.What You'll DoLead Fresh Import ExecutionManage daily fresh import operations, including shipment coordination, issue resolution, and execution of international inbound freight flows.Ensure seamless movement of perishable products from origin through delivery while protecting quality and availability.Drive Cold-Chain ExcellenceManage reefer capacity, vessel space, seasonal transportation requirements, and temperature-controlled logistics programs.Partner closely with carriers and logistics providers to maintain product integrity and optimal transit performance.Oversee Transload and Cross-Dock OperationsCoordinate fresh transload and cross-dock activities across third-party logistics providers, distribution centers, and internal partners.Ensure end-to-end cold-chain standards are maintained throughout the transportation and handling process.Monitor Performance and Resolve IssuesLead shipment reporting and visibility efforts.Track on-time delivery, landed cost performance, exceptions, and service disruptions.Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact product availability, freshness, or customer experience.Manage Key Logistics PartnershipsServe as the primary point of contact for reefer drayage providers, cold-storage facilities, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other critical partners.Escalate and resolve service issues while driving continuous improvement across the network.Enhance Network VisibilityMaintain fresh import network maps and transportation milestones.Partner with sourcing and visibility teams to improve tracking capabilities and supply chain transparency.Who We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications7+ years of experience in international logistics, ocean freight, import operations, or global supply chain management.Direct experience managing temperature-controlled or perishable supply chains.Strong understanding of fresh commodities such as produce, protein, seafood, or similar categories.Experience working directly with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.Knowledge of import documentation, compliance requirements, booking processes, and shipment tracking.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience executing fresh import shipments for a retailer, importer, carrier, or logistics provider.Deep understanding of reefer transportation and cold-chain requirements.Experience supporting transload, cross-dock, and cold-storage operations.Ability to anticipate and mitigate supply chain disruptions that impact perishable products.
