OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Market Analyst (Global) to join Client’s Group Commercial function, reporting directly to the Group Commercial Director. The role will provide market intelligence, commercial analysis, pricing insights, and strategic reporting across all regions and business lines, covering oil & gas and offshore renewables.You will identify, qualify, track, and analyse market opportunities and client work scopes, while maintaining the Group’s sales pipeline, client and competitor intelligence, pricing analysis, and tender forecasts.The role will support the Group Commercial Director, Regional Commercial Directors, Business Development teams, and senior leadership in bid/no-bid decisions, opportunity prioritisation, competitive positioning, and tender strategy.This is a high-visibility global role requiring strong analytical and commercial skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for senior management and Board-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & AnalysisDevelop and maintain a structured global market intelligence framework covering industry trends, client activity, projects, and market opportunities.Research and analyse market developments across oil & gas and offshore renewables, providing actionable insights to support commercial strategy and bid/no-bid decisions.Monitor client, competitor, vessel, contract award, and market activity to strengthen Client’s competitive positioning.Pipeline & Business DevelopmentMaintain and analyse the Group sales pipeline and CRM data across regions and business lines.Track upcoming projects, tenders, and client opportunities, supporting opportunity qualification, prioritisation, and forecasting.Provide market and client intelligence to support business development, client engagement, and strategic capture plans.Pricing & Commercial AnalysisDevelop pricing benchmarks using historical data, competitor intelligence, and prevailing market rates.Analyse won and lost bids to identify pricing trends and support price-to-win strategies.Provide commercial analysis to support tender prioritisation, pricing decisions, and resource planning.Reporting & Decision SupportPrepare concise market, pipeline, competitor, pricing, and commercial reports for the Group Commercial Director and senior management.Support Board-level reporting and strategic commercial reviews with clear analysis, trends, and recommendations.Develop and improve internal market intelligence tools, dashboards, and reporting processes.Stakeholder CollaborationWork closely with Regional Commercial Directors and Business Development teams to ensure consistent pipeline data, market intelligence, and reporting across the Group.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support commercial initiatives and client engagement.Maintain confidentiality of commercially sensitive, client, pricing, and strategic information.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport the Group Commercial Director on strategic market and commercial initiatives.Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within the Group Commercial function.Perform other relevant duties as assigned by senior management. Essential RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.Proven experience in Market Analysis, Commercial Analysis, Market Intelligence, Business Intelligence, or a similar role, preferably within an industrial or energy-related environment.Substantive experience in the oil & gas industry, with exposure to subsea contracting, offshore services, or vessel-based operations highly advantageous.Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret market, pricing, pipeline, and competitor data and translate findings into actionable insights.Experience in market research, competitor intelligence, sales pipeline analysis, commercial forecasting, and pricing or market benchmarking.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using CRM systems and developing commercial reports, dashboards, or analytical tools.Working knowledge of market intelligence platforms such as Rystad Energy, Spinergie, 4C Offshore, S&P Global, or equivalent.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to produce concise reports for senior management.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across a global, geographically dispersed organisation.High level of integrity and discretion when handling commercially sensitive information.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Preferred QualificationsExperience in subsea, offshore engineering, marine, offshore renewables, or related energy sectors.Experience supporting global or multi-region commercial operations.Knowledge of offshore project pipelines, vessel markets, competitor positioning, and industry contracting trends.Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualisation tools.Experience supporting Board-level reporting, strategic commercial reviews, or executive decision-making.Exposure to bid/no-bid processes, tender prioritisation, capture planning, or price-to-win analysis.
