The candidate must excel in sourcing and researching information deeply, thinking critically, synthesising information from diverse and reliable sources, crafting comprehensive yet succinct reports, and communicating with precision.

Key Responsibilities

Information Gathering and Analysis:Conduct thorough research on complex subjects, gathering and compiling data from multiple sources of informationMaintain source reliability and adhere to the highest standards of source credibility.Synthesise information into clear and meaningful content that fulfils the requirements of the research product.Assess current and emerging events from various perspectives (subject-specific) and use appropriate analytical frameworks to illustrate assessment.Forecast current, emerging, and/or evolving events.Where appropriate or if requested, provide recommendations to the reader that highlight priorities, clarify implications, and encourage strategic thinking.Research Development:Develop clear, concise, and engaging reports, briefs, and presentations that summarise findings.Translate complex information into easily understandable language tailored to the intended audience.Timeliness and Responsiveness:Deliver high-quality research products within tight deadlines, often requiring rapid turnaround on time-sensitive topics.Proactively monitor emerging trends and events that may impact content.Collaboration and Communication:Work with internal teams to understand their information needs and deliver targeted products.Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on best practices in research methodologies and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of products.Skills & Requirements:Advanced degree, with 5-10+ years in a relevant fieldExceptional ability to locate, evaluate, and synthesise information from diverse and complex sources.Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess the reliability and relevance of data and its impact on the research question.Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to distil complexity for any audience and create clear and concise reports that inform high-stakes decisions.Thrives under pressure and maintains accuracy and attention to detail in time-sensitive situations.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.A naturally curious, self-driven problem-solverAbsolute integrity and discretionA genuine passion for global affairs and emerging trends
