Global Sourcing Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: This position will play an integral part in every piece of sourcing from identification of potential supply partners to process improvement to strategy. This role will be required to think analytically by collecting and analyzing data as well as globally by evaluating trade relations, commodity markets and wage rates impact decisions. Driving cost savings both direct and indirect through process improvement will also be a main component of this position’s objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop the contract manufacturing sourcing strategy through market studies to identify best practices, identify gaps, risks, and opportunities as well as to identify new suppliers and refine a supplier baseManage supplier relationship for new and existing manufactures including factory audits, new capabilities, innovation and production locationsrack overall Sourcing Spend for both Direct and Indirect SourcingIdentify variances and manage risks for respective area through work with Finance and Operations stakeholdersIdentify Value Improvement opportunitiesDevelop and launch RFPs (request for proposal) to select suppliers in targeted categoriesCollaborate with Operations, R&D & Marketing Innovation teams by providing key insight on current capabilities, manufacturing site potential, and economic feasibilityCreation of Supplier Evaluation ToolsEstablish standard KPIs for suppliersEvaluate and manage the performance of contract manufacturing supplier partnersDefine the objectives of improvement of performance and the necessary action plansEstablish the budget, track variances, and manage risks for respective area through work with Finance and Operations stakeholdersIdentify new projects to create savings opportunities, validate with finance, seek, and attain buy-in for these projects, build budget with other functions, realize and track savingsWhen it is permitted and reasonable to do so, this position will be expected to travel both domestically and internationally between 25-50%EXPERIENCE/SKILLS SET5-10 years of work experienceBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferredCPG/Beauty Sourcing/ Contract Manufacturing experience a plus
