Applicants can expect a collaborative environment that values student success, professionalism, and continuous learning.Role Description The Global Student Counsellor will provide one-on-one guidance to students seeking higher education opportunities abroad, helping them choose suitable countries, institutions, and programs based on their profiles and aspirations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, assessing academic and financial backgrounds, advising on application and documentation requirements, and supporting students through admission and visa processes. The role involves maintaining accurate records of student interactions, coordinating with universities and partner agencies, and staying updated on international education policies, intake periods, and scholarship options. The counsellor will also participate in information sessions, education fairs, and outreach activities, while collaborating with colleagues to improve service quality and counselling tools. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo.Qualifications Strong student counselling and advisory skills, including the ability to assess individual needs and provide tailored guidance on international study options.Knowledge of global higher education systems, admission procedures, and student visa processes for key destination countries (e.g., UK, Australia, Canada, USA).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in spoken and written English and the ability to interact effectively with diverse students and families.Organizational and administrative abilities, including managing multiple student files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate documentation.Customer service and relationship-building skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and ethical counselling practices.Comfort with using office productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM systems) and conducting online research on universities, programs, and scholarships.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing policies, requirements, and timelines.Relevant experience in student counselling, education consulting, or a related field; prior exposure to international education is an advantage.Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Business, Social Sciences, or a related discipline preferred.
