You will partner particularly with Procurement Category Managers who are buying raw materials for multiple manufacturing sites.This is a critical role within a global procurement function, responsible for ensuring manufacturing capacity can support large customer orders whilst maintaining speed, accuracy and operational alignment. You will lead a team responsible for capacity analysis, supplier and plant coordination, capacity approvals that support commercial pricing and quoting processes.The OpportunityYou will partner with Procurement, Operations, Planning, Sales and Commercial teams.You will be responsible for assessing manufacturing capacity across multiple product lines, coordinating with production planners and schedulers, and ensuring timely capacity approvals for major customer opportunities.The role requires strong planning expertise, stakeholder management capability and the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced global environment.Key Responsibilities
- Lead capacity analysis for large deal opportunities across multiple product and business units.
- Manage capacity planning workflows and prioritise requests based on customer deadlines and commercial value.
- Coordinate with production planners and schedulers to validate manufacturing capacity and delivery timelines.
- Partner with Pricing and Commercial teams to provide capacity approvals for strategic opportunities.
- Manage capacity reservations and forecasting activities within ERP and planning systems.
- Monitor and report on capacity utilisation, project status and service level performance.
- Drive consistency and standardisation of capacity planning processes across business units.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce response times and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide capacity updates and recommendations to Sales and Commercial stakeholders.
- Lead workload management within the team and ensure effective project ownership and delivery.
- Support supplier and manufacturing capacity agreements and reservation processes.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Sales, Planning and Commercial teams to resolve capacity constraints and delivery risks.Ideally you will have experience in capacity planning, production planning or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.You will bring a strong understanding of manufacturing operations together with the commercial awareness required to support complex customer opportunities.Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
- 5 to 8 years' experience in capacity planning, production planning or supply chain management.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in manufacturing scheduling, marrying the truth of supplier capability with demand planning.
- Experience working across multiple product lines, sites or business units.
- Experience using ERP and planning systems. Oracle EBS experience would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with planning tools such as CyberPlan, Cybertec or similar systems.
- Experience supporting quoting, commercial or pricing processes is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines.
