An opportunity for an experienced Golang developer to join a leading financial institution in Amsterdam. The position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that are critical to the platform’s performance, reliability, and scalability. Working closely with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders, you will contribute to technical improvements, strengthen Go development expertise within the team.Responsibilities:Design, build, implement, and maintain microservices using GoWork on new and existing backend code, including frameworks such as Gin and related toolingDevelop backend API services that support CI/CD platform managementCollaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutionsContribute to architecture decisions and technical improvementsEnsure code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practicesSupport CI/CD pipelines, automation, and platform reliabilityIdentify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issuesHelp improve the developer experience for a large internal engineering communityRequirements:3 to 5 years of experience in software development with Go / GolangStrong experience building backend API servicesSolid understanding of microservices and backend service developmentExperience with frameworks and tools such as Gin, uber-zap, HTTP mock, mockery, or similarUnderstanding of OAuth implementation for backend APIs is a plusStrong problem-solving skills with a structured and systematic approachGood infrastructure knowledge, including scripting with shellFamiliarity with programming languages such as Go, Python, or JavaInterest in CI/CD platforms and supporting developers in using modern engineering toolingStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a teamNice to have:Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systemsExperience with REST APIs and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with cloud platforms and container technologies such as Kubernetes and DockerKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesUnderstanding of security and compliance best practicesExperience with monitoring and observability tools
