Golf Course Superintendent

Purpose & Scope of the RoleThe Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and management of golf courses and associated properties. This role ensures world-class playing conditions, efficient maintenance operations, and alignment with long-term strategic objectives, while adhering to budgetary, environmental, and safety standards.Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Course & Property ManagementOversee the maintenance and conditioning of all golf course turf, landscaping, and surrounding properties.Supervise the upkeep of residential areas, gardens, and landscaping zones.Ensure clubhouse grounds and green areas are maintained to premium golf standards.2. Construction & Infrastructure OversightSupervise new construction, renovation, and reconstruction projects on the golf course and property.Coordinate with external contractors and internal maintenance teams for all infrastructure and development projects.Monitor project quality, timelines, and adherence to agronomic standards.3. Equipment & Asset ManagementSupervise the maintenance, repair, and operation of all golf course construction and maintenance equipment.Develop and oversee equipment maintenance programs, ensuring machinery is safe, functional, and efficient.Support inventory control and asset planning for maintenance equipment and materials.4. Operational & Strategic ManagementParticipate in long-term planning meetings with leadership.Develop, manage, and maintain realistic operational and capital expenditure budgets.Implement cost control measures to ensure expenses align with approved budgets.Support purchasing and capital investment planning for equipment and infrastructure.5. Staff Leadership & DevelopmentOversee scheduling, deployment, and performance of maintenance staff.Develop and implement structured training programs for the maintenance team.Lead by example, ensuring strong morale, productivity, and professional discipline across a multicultural workforce.6. Inspection & Quality ControlConduct regular inspections of the golf course and surrounding areas to ensure standards are achieved.Monitor agronomic quality, safety procedures, and maintenance work compliance.7. Records & ComplianceMaintain accurate records related to:Payroll and staffingInventory and equipment usageMaintenance proceduresFertilizer and pesticide applicationsHealth, safety, and environmental complianceEnsure adherence to all local regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines.Qualifications & Experience RequirementsEducation:University Degree, Diploma, or recognized certification in Agronomy, Turf Management, or Golf Course Maintenance.Experience:Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position at a reputed golf course.Strong experience in tournament preparation and high-performance turf conditioning.

Technical Skills
