Goods Receiving Inspector

Job Overview:The Goods Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and documenting incoming goods and materials to ensure they meet specified quality, quantity, safety, and compliance requirements.The role supports the integrity of the receiving and supply chain process by conducting inspections, identifying non-conforming materials, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Quality, and other relevant functions.The position also requires awareness of QHSE practices and the ability to perform basic workplace and material-related safety and quality inspections, particularly within an industrial, MRO, manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect incoming goods and materials to verify compliance with purchase orders, specifications, drawings, and required quality standards.Verify the quantity, condition, identification, labeling, and supporting documentation of received materials.Review purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, certificates, and other relevant receiving documentation.Conduct quality and visual inspections of incoming materials and identify defects, damage, discrepancies, or non-conformances.Document and report non-conforming materials and support the relevant teams in coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.Ensure received materials comply with applicable organizational, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.Verify material identification and traceability and ensure appropriate labeling and status identification.Coordinate with Warehouse, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth receiving and inspection activities.Support proper storage and handling of materials following inspection and acceptance.Maintain accurate receiving, inspection, non-conformance, and quality records in the relevant systems.Conduct basic workplace and receiving-area safety and quality inspections.Support the identification of workplace hazards and basic risk assessment activities related to receiving and material handling.Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and quality issues through the appropriate channels.Ensure receiving and inspection activities are conducted in accordance with applicable QHSE procedures.Identify opportunities to improve receiving, inspection, documentation, and material control processes.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in goods receiving, quality inspection, QHSE, MRO, manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or defense environments.Experience working with military/weapon-related equipment or systems is required/preferred, depending on the Hiring Manager's final classification.Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.Basic knowledge of risk assessment and hazard identification.Basic knowledge of incident and near-miss reporting.Ability to conduct basic workplace safety and quality inspections.Ability to prepare and maintain inspection reports, QHSE checklists, receiving records, and other relevant documentation.Familiarity with quality assurance procedures, inspection processes, and non-conformance reporting.Knowledge of inventory/ERP systems and receiving documentation.IOSH or equivalent recognized safety certification is preferred.Good written and spoken English.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.Ability to handle materials and perform physical inspection activities as required by the job.
