Google AppSheet Engineer(Strong Python)Location: Remote workduration: 12 Months+Role SummaryThe Junior Systems Integration Engineer – Enterprise Transformation will support the design, build, and operation of enterprise integrations and data pipelines that help modernize how systems work together across business units. Working with the Software / Core IT transformation teams, this role helps connect Google Workspace, SaaS platforms, enterprise AI tools, and core business systems through secure and reusable integration patterns.This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who can contribute to integration solutions under the guidance of senior engineers, translate requirements into implementation tasks, and help maintain supportable, production-ready pipelines that align to enterprise standards. The Junior Systems Integration Engineer will collaborate with product, engineering, TPM, security, and business teams to enable reliable data flow and workflow continuity acrossKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic Architecture & Standards AlignmentContribute to reusable services, accelerators, and reference integration templates to help transformation pods solve repeatable connectivity needs.Apply enterprise platform guardrails in day-to-day implementation work by following data standards, identity guidelines, and security policies.Collaborate with Security, Privacy, Identity, ILM, and Retention teams to implement integration patterns for workflows that process sensitive or regulated data.Assist in evaluating integration requests and documenting recommended technical paths using approved platform capabilities, configuration options, or custom engineering.Integration Delivery & Pipeline EngineeringImplement and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, scripts, connectors, and middleware services under the guidance of senior engineers.Help define and implement source-to-destination data mappings, transformation logic, exception handling, and monitoring approaches that support reliable operations.Support efforts to modernize Microsoft-dependent workflows, legacy interfaces, and older automations into scalable, Google-aligned integration patterns.Assist in connecting Google Workspace with core platforms, including identity services, reporting environments, asset repositories, and approved AI platforms.Contribute to end-to-end workflows that move data and trigger actions across enterprise systems.Migration & Coexistence EngineeringHelp design and support coexistence models that allow Microsoft, Google, and internal platforms to interoperate effectively during phased migration waves.Assist in preserving workflow continuity where historical data, inactive-user content, or core systems must remain on legacy platforms during transition.Support cutover activities including sequencing, permissions validation, metadata mapping, and post-deployment stabilization.Transformation Pod Engagement & SustainmentWork with Transformation Product Leads and TPMs to understand integration requirements and integrate Google capabilities into operational processes.Participate in design reviews, implementation discussions, and best-practice sharing sessions with senior engineers.Help author and maintain technical designs, dependency maps, runbooks, and handover materials that support long-term sustainment of integrated solutions.Support validation, troubleshooting, and hypercare activities during rollout and early adoption phases by triaging and resolving integration-related issues.Required QualificationsCore Experience & Education1–3+ years of hands-on experience in integration engineering, software engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise application integration (internships and co-ops can be included).Demonstrated interest in systems thinking, with exposure to mapping dependencies across applications, data flows, and business processes.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Integration & Software Engineering ProficiencyPractical experience with Python and/or other scripting or automation frameworks (professional, academic, or project-based).Experience (or strong interest) building integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware solutions, or ETL / data transformation logic.Understanding of basic cloud-based integration patterns, modern application architecture concepts, Git-based version control, and debugging techniques.Interest in designing secure, supportable integrations across SaaS platforms and internal enterprise systems.Security, Identity & Cross-Functional DeliveryBasic understanding of enterprise authentication, authorization, and access-control concepts, with a desire to deepen expertise in identity integration.Experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, and/or business stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document designs and explain implementation approaches to technical partners.Preferred QualificationsExperience or exposure to Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace coexistence or migration projects (coursework, internships, or prior roles).Familiarity with Google Workspace APIs, Google Apps Script, or AppSheet is a plus.Exposure to data and AI ecosystems such as Gemini Enterprise, Glean, or Databricks is a plus.Familiarity with corporate data retention, ILM, privacy frameworks, or regulated data controls in enterprise environments is a plus.
