We are seeking an experienced Information Governance & Privacy Compliance Attorney to join a high-performing legal environment focused on complex litigation and regulatory matters across industries including technology, healthcare, life sciences, and consumer products.Location: Open to candidates in the Metro DC, New York, or Connecticut areaWork Model: HybridPosition OverviewThis role will oversee information governance compliance, including client data management, privacy compliance, data retention, legal hold governance, defensible disposition, and information lifecycle management.The position partners closely with IT, Litigation Support, Innovation, and administrative leadership to develop and maintain firm-wide strategies, policies, and procedures governing the handling of confidential and sensitive data.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development and oversight of the information governance frameworkDraft and implement policies related to governance, privacy, security, and data handlingCollaborate with IT, Security, Litigation Support, and Innovation teamsAdvise on U.S. and international privacy, security, and data transfer regulationsProvide guidance on emerging technologies, including AI tools and cloud platformsSupport client audits, security questionnaires, and outside counsel requirementsOversee documentation, governance processes, and compliance trackingMonitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidanceManage client-specific data handling and compliance obligationsQualificationsJ.D. and licensed in New York, DC, Connecticut, or CaliforniaMinimum 5+ years of relevant experience in privacy, security, or information governanceExperience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional services environment strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to develop policies, workflows, and training programsStrong cross-functional collaboration and project management skillsExperience advising on AI technologies, privacy laws, and data governance frameworksFamiliarity with legal hold systems, document management, records retention, and client data requirementsExcellent communication skills and sound judgment handling sensitive informationPreferred CertificationsCIPP/US or comparable privacy certification strongly preferredCIPM, IGP, CRM, CRA or related certifications are a plusCore CompetenciesStrong judgment and ability to navigate complex legal and business issuesPractical approach to implementing governance policiesAbility to balance innovation, business needs, and risk managementHigh attention to detail and strong documentation practicesCollaborative, hands-on mindset with ability to influence across teamsWhy JoinHybrid work environmentCollaborative, cross-functional cultureOpportunity to work on cutting-edge privacy, governance, and technology initiatives Interested candidates should send resumes to:stacey.lyons@trustpoint.oneTrustpoint.One provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
