Governance Officer

Role Description The Governance Officer is a part-time, hybrid role based in Dubai, with a blend of on-site work and the flexibility to work from home. This role is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that guide decision-making across the institution. Day-to-day activities include drafting and updating governance documents, coordinating committee meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items. The Governance Officer will track compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations, maintain governance records and registers, and support risk and control assessments. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, facilitating stakeholder communication, and preparing regular reports for leadership on governance performance and improvement opportunities.QualificationsAbility to develop, review, and implement governance policies, procedures, and frameworks.Strong skills in documentation, report writing, and organizing governance records and meeting materials.Experience supporting compliance activities, risk assessments, and internal control monitoring.Proficiency with digital collaboration tools and basic data management in a technology-oriented environment.Effective communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in diverse teams.Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a part-time, hybrid work setting.Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, law, governance, or a related field; relevant certifications in governance, compliance, or risk are an advantage.Prior experience in governance, corporate administration, or non-profit/community institutions in Dubai or the region is beneficial.
