The firm maintains offices and advocates in Jacksonville and Tallahassee to support clients across Florida and other regions.Role Description The Government Affairs Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, analyzing their impact on clients, and advising on strategic responses. The Government Affairs Manager will develop and execute advocacy plans, build and maintain relationships with elected officials, agency staff, and key stakeholders, and coordinate coalition activities aligned with client objectives. Daily responsibilities include drafting policy briefs and client updates, preparing talking points and presentations, organizing and attending meetings and events, and representing clients in hearings, forums, and other public settings. The role also involves close collaboration with internal team members to ensure consistent communication, timely reporting, and effective alignment with client goals.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Governmental Affairs and Government Relations, including experience with legislative and regulatory processes.Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret complex policy issues, assess impacts, and recommend data-informed strategies.Candidates should possess advanced Communication and Public Affairs skills, including clear writing, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement.Experience building and managing relationships with public officials, agencies, advocacy groups, and business partners is beneficial.Knowledge of Florida state and local government structures, procedures, and political dynamics is strongly preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively in a team environment, and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.Willingness to work on-site in Jacksonville, FL and travel in-state as needed for meetings, events, and legislative sessions.
