Graduate Software Engineer

This role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to work on real-world, high-impact applications while developing strong technical and professional skills.You’ll contribute to the development of innovative, high-performance systems used in live trading environments, gaining exposure to modern software architecture and engineering practices. Working alongside experienced developers, researchers, and traders, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable and scalable solutions.Our client’s technology stack primarily includes C#, .NET, SQL Server, and ASP.NET, and you’ll receive mentorship to help you grow your expertise in these areas.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, developing, and maintaining applications using C# and .NETSupport the development of scalable systems for trading and researchContribute to database development and optimisation (SQL Server or similar)Collaborate with senior developers, researchers, and traders to deliver software solutionsParticipate in code reviews and adopt best engineering practicesHelp improve system performance, reliability, and automationContribute to ongoing improvements in development processes and toolsRequired Skills & ExperienceAt least a 2:1 BSc in Computer Science or a related subject from Russell Group UniversityStrong foundation in programming, ideally with exposure to C# or .NETUnderstanding of object-oriented programming principlesFamiliarity with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailGood communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentEagerness to learn and develop in a fast-paced technical settingDesirable SkillsKnowledge of multi-threading or concurrent programming conceptsBasic understanding of networking (TCP/UDP)Familiarity with version control systems such as GitExposure to Windows-based development environmentsInterest in financial markets or trading systems
