The Market Associate stocks and displays products in the Grocery, Produce, Housewares, and Wine departments, handles payments and ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements, and provides outstanding guest service. Reports to the Market Manager.Stocks, rotates, merchandises and faces products according to department proceduresEnsures all grocery items are merchandised attractively as per quality standardsRotates products according to First In First Out (FIFO) standardsMaintains and organizes back-stock and warehouse storage areas according to department standardsAdheres to all guidelines about product recommendations and informationCommunicates department’s needs, adjustments and problems promptly and efficiently to managerMaintains a safe and clean work environment in compliance with department, federal and state regulationsPerforms light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal as necessaryCollects cash or charge payments from guests and provides change and charge vouchers if appropriateVerifies accuracy of cash bank by counting cash, checks, and charge payments at end of shiftObtains and reviews information regarding price changesPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualificationsPositive attitude and ability to work well with a teamBasic math and cash-handling skillsVerbal and written communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious stocking experience in a retail setting preferredWine experience is considered a strong assetJob RequirementsAvailability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including nights and weekendsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAbility to use a hand truck, cart, box cutter, ladder and cleaning suppliesSmart Serve certifiedCompensationCompensation for this role is CAD $17.60 hourlyThis position has been posted to fill a current vacancyAdditional InformationBenefits and PerksMedical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental LeaveRRSPFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand more!
