The organization focuses on accurate data collection, clear reporting, and reliable field practices to help clients make informed decisions about subsurface conditions.Role Description The Ground Penetrating Radar Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kennewick, WA. This position is responsible for operating ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment and related geophysical instruments to locate utilities, evaluate concrete and rebar, detect underground storage tanks, and assist with seismic surveys. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing field surveys, collecting and interpreting GPR data, documenting findings, and producing clear reports for internal teams and clients. The specialist will work closely with project managers, geologists, and other field staff to ensure data quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following OSHA and company safety protocols, and occasionally traveling to project sites within the region.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong technical skills in operating ground penetrating radar and related geophysical survey equipment, along with the ability to interpret subsurface data and anomalies.Candidates should possess fieldwork and site investigation skills, including utility locating, concrete and rebar assessment, and underground feature identification in varied environmental and construction settings.Candidates should possess data analysis and reporting skills, including processing survey results, preparing maps and diagrams, and writing clear, concise technical summaries for clients and internal stakeholders.Candidates should possess safety and compliance skills, including adherence to OSHA standards, safe field practices, and awareness of relevant local and federal regulations for subsurface investigations.Candidates should possess communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate with geologists, engineers, and project managers, and to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.Candidates should possess organizational and problem-solving skills, including managing multiple projects, troubleshooting equipment issues, and adapting survey methods to site-specific conditions.Relevant qualifications include prior experience in geophysical surveying or utility locating, a background in geology, geophysics, civil engineering, or related field, and familiarity with GIS or mapping software.Additional beneficial qualifications include a valid driver’s license, willingness to travel within the region, physical ability to perform fieldwork in diverse outdoor conditions, and any
