Position: Group AccountantCompensation: AED 20,000 - 25,000 plus statutory benefitsLocation: Dubai, UAEOverviewGateworth are currently supporting a single-family office in the recruitment, of a Group Accountant, within their newly established and centralised operation based in Dubai. The Group Accountant plays a key role within the finance function, responsible for the accurate and timely consolidation of financial results across the group's subsidiaries and business units.Reporting to a CFO operator, this role ensures the integrity of group-wide financial reporting, drives consistency in accounting policies across entities, and supports statutory and external audit requirements. The successful candidate will act as a technical accounting resource for the wider finance team, bridging entity-level reporting with group consolidation, while also contributing to process improvements, internal controls and strategic financial insight for senior management.Main Responsibilities Preparing consolidated group financial statements across multiple entities/subsidiaries and ensuring compliance with IFRS (or relevant local GAAP) at a group level.Managing the group close process and ensuring deadlines are met across subsidiaries and reviewing journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations from entity-level teams.Overseeing intercompany recharges, loans, and balances whilst ensuring intercompany transactions are properly matched and eliminated and managing transfer pricing documentation where applicable.Liaising with external auditors and managing the year-end audit process along with the preparation of audit files, schedules and supporting documentation whilst also ensuring statutory accounts are filed on time for each group entity.Preparing and reviewing VAT returns across group entities, ensuring accurate and timely submission in line with local regulations whilst ensuring compliance with VAT regulations across jurisdictions the group operates aligning also with any regulatory changes.Assisting with group budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis and providing financial insight to senior management/CFO coupled with driving process efficiencies and automation in group reporting.Qualifications & Prerequisites The client will look to recruit a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA) with experience from within a Big Four audit-type background.Prior experience in a group/consolidation accounting role within a multi-entity or multinational organization along with a strong working knowledge of IFRS and any local GAAP technicalities along with managing statutory audits and liaising with external auditors.Candidates shall be required to demonstrate strong Excel-based skills along with a strong background within analytical reporting skills including an ability to explain technical accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders.Ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple entities whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity and professionalism along with a high level of proactiveness, self-motivation and a capability to work independently.This is a highly visible role suited to a detail-oriented, technically strong accountant who thrives in a multi-entity, fast-paced environment and is comfortable liaising with stakeholders across different jurisdictions and business functions.ApplyApplicants meeting this criterion and looking for a progressive and challenging opportunity should submit an application via the apply link.
