Group Chief Accountant

About the CompanyFor an international group of companies, we are looking for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of group accounting. The role combines accounting governance, consolidation, internal controls, systems development and coordination of accounting teams across multiple countries. You will act as a key partner to management on accounting and finance matters and help shape consistent, scalable and sustainable group processes. The company name and exact work location are intentionally confidential at this stage and will be shared during the recruitment process.About the RoleKey responsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes across individual group entities.Coordinate consolidation of financial statements and ensure consistency across entities.Develop, harmonise and oversee group accounting methodology in line with local and international accounting standards.Implement and maintain an effective internal control framework for accounting and finance.Coordinate cooperation with auditors, tax advisers, legal advisers and other external stakeholders, including transfer pricing documentation.Contribute to ERP and reporting development, process automation and financial data integrity.Standardise accounting and finance processes across countries and support effective cross-border cooperation.Provide professional guidance, training and development support to accounting team members.Monitor relevant legislative changes and ensure they are reflected in group processes.QualificationsUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.Required SkillsDemonstrated experience in complex accounting environments and strong knowledge of accounting standards.Ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy.Strong analytical and strategic thinking, independent problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.English at B2 level or above.Advanced MS Office skills; experience with a major ERP environment is an advantage.A continuous-learning mindset and motivation to improve accounting processes and ways of working.
