Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Purpose:The Group Chief Commercial & Operating Officer is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for translating corporate strategy into an integrated, customer-centric and high-performing commercial and operating model.The role provides executive leadership and governance across commercial, operational and corporate support functions, with accountability for business growth, organisational capability, operational excellence, transformation and sustainable customer and financial outcomes.Key Accountabilities:1. Enterprise Strategy and LeadershipContribute to corporate strategy, business performance and long-term value creation.Translate strategic priorities into an effective commercial and operating model.Advise the Group Chief Executive Officer on operating strategy, commercial performance and organisational capability.Promote collaboration, accountability and effective execution across the organisation.2. Commercial Growth and Customer ExcellenceDevelop and execute strategies that improve revenue, profitability, market position and long-term asset value.Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and commercial initiatives.Align Sales, Retail, Communities and Asset Management to deliver consistent customer and resident experiences.Establish commercial and customer performance measures covering revenue, profitability, acquisition, retention and service quality.3. Executive Leadership and Organisational CapabilityBuild and lead a high-performing team of senior executives and functional leaders.Establish clear accountability, decision rights and performance expectations.Drive succession planning, leadership development and organisational capability.Remove functional silos and promote a culture of ownership, collaboration and execution excellence.4. Portfolio LeadershipProvide executive oversight across functions including:Administration and Corporate ServicesHuman Resources and People OperationsDigital, Technology and AI TransformationBusiness ExcellenceSales and Commercial OperationsMalls and RetailCommunities and Customer ExperienceGovernment RelationsSecurityAsset ManagementEnsure each function delivers agreed strategic objectives, financial commitments, service standards and measurable business outcomes.5. Operational Governance and Business ExcellenceEstablish governance frameworks, operating standards and performance-management disciplines.Lead business and operating reviews against strategic, financial and operational objectives.Drive operational excellence, process standardisation and continuous improvement.Ensure timely corrective action where performance falls below agreed expectations.6. Transformation, Digitization and InnovationSponsor enterprise-wide transformation programs that improve productivity, agility and service delivery.Champion AI adoption, automation, digital enablement and data-driven decision-making.Simplify processes, eliminate inefficiencies and ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable benefits.7. Financial, Risk and Compliance ManagementOversee budgets, operating plans, investments and resource-allocation priorities.Drive productivity, cost optimisation and sustainable value creation.Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and corporate-governance requirements.Manage operational, financial, commercial and reputational risks.Strengthen business continuity, crisis management and organisational resilience.8. Stakeholder LeadershipBuild trusted relationships with the Board, Executive Leadership Team, government authorities, regulators and strategic partners.Represent the commercial and operating portfolio in executive and Board-level forums.Present performance, risks, strategic initiatives and recommendations to senior stakeholders.Support major negotiations and strategic business decisions.Educational QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance or a related discipline.MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.Executive education in Strategy, Leadership, Corporate Governance or Business Transformation is desirable.Professional ExperienceMinimum 25 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least five years in a Group-level, C-suite or equivalent executive role.Proven experience leading multiple commercial, operational and corporate functions within a large and complex organisation.Demonstrated success in business growth, organisational transformation and operational excellence.Experience in real estate development, mixed-use developments, investment groups or diversified conglomerates is preferred.Experience working with Boards, Executive Committees, government authorities and strategic partners.
