Apply & track with Apply EdgeMy client is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Director to lead the company's finance function and support the continued growth of one of the UAE's leading main contractors. The role is reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership across multiple business units and major construction projects, ensuring robust financial governance, profitability, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in executive decision-making, partnering with operational leaders to drive financial performance while supporting the delivery of large scale infrastructure projects throughout the UAE.Key Responsibilities• Lead and manage the finance department, providing strategic direction and mentoring a high-performing finance team.• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term businessobjectives.• Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.• Deliver accurate monthly and annual financial statements, board reports, and executive-levelfinancial analysis.• Manage company cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and funding requirements.• Monitor project financial performance, including revenue recognition, project profitability, costcontrol, and forecasting.• Work closely with Commercial, Operations, Procurement, and Project Directors to maximiseproject margins and financial performance.• Lead financial risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance across theorganisation.• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, taxation requirements, and statutory reportingobligations.• Manage external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions,and regulatory authorities.• Support contract reviews, commercial negotiations, joint ventures, and investment decisionsfrom a financial perspective.• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems, automation, andoperational efficiencies.• Provide financial insights to support business growth, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.Candidate Requirements• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA.• Minimum 15 years' progressive finance experience, including senior leadership within theconstruction or contracting sector.• Proven experience working for a large main contractor within the GCC.• Strong understanding of construction accounting, project finance, revenue recognition, costcontrol, and contract administration.• Experience managing multi-billion AED project portfolios and complex financial operations.• Excellent knowledge of IFRS, financial governance, taxation, and statutory compliance.• Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management skills.• Strong leadershipcapability with experience managing and developing finance teams.• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influenceexecutive-level decisions.• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar constructionfinance platforms.
