Group Financial ControllerLocation: Altrincham, Greater ManchesterWRS is looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our Head Office in Altrincham and play a key role within our global Finance function.Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this is a senior and broad-ranging position with responsibility across our international Group. You’ll lead an established Finance team and take ownership of the day-to-day financial control, reporting and performance of the function, while also helping us continue to improve how Finance supports a growing global business.This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers but equally comfortable looking at the bigger picture – improving processes, developing people, strengthening controls and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.The roleAs Group Financial Controller, you will:Take ownership of the preparation of timely and accurate monthly consolidated management accounts and reportingLead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing clear and meaningful financial information to DirectorsEnsure the accuracy and integrity of the Group's accounting records and financial systemsOversee financial reporting across our international subsidiaries and support Group consolidationManage the statutory accounts and year-end audit process, working closely with external auditorsTake an active role in cash flow and working capital management, including debtors, invoicing and funding requirementsStrengthen financial controls and ensure appropriate processes are embedded across our overseas entitiesOversee relevant tax compliance across the Group, including Corporation Tax, VAT and other international requirementsManage, motivate and develop the Finance team, creating a high-performing and commercially focused functionWork closely with departments across WRS to ensure Finance effectively supports operational and commercial decision-makingIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, improve systems and drive efficiencies across the Finance functionLead the development of our Finance automation and AI strategy, exploring how technology can improve efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance the quality of financial reportingWhat we're looking forWe’re looking for an established finance professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness and confident leadership.You will ideally have:ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualificationPrevious experience in a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller or similar senior finance roleExperience managing and developing a Finance teamStrong management accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting experienceExperience working across an international or multi-entity Group structureAn understanding of multi-currency environmentsExcellent analytical skills with the ability to turn financial information into meaningful commercial insightStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsA continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge established processesStrong business acumen and the ability to see beyond the numbersExperience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI would be highly advantageousExperience or knowledge of US businesses and reporting requirements would be advantageousPrevious experience within recruitment, staffing or a similar fast-paced service business would also be beneficialWhy WRS?WRS is an international recruitment and workforce solutions business operating across multiple global markets.This is a key role within our Finance leadership team and offers the opportunity to have genuine influence over how the function develops.
