With a highly experienced leadership team, significant market opportunity, and ambitious growth plans, the business is now seeking a finance leader who can establish the foundations required to support scale.The role has been created because the business has reached a point where stronger financial infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and financial controls are needed to support future growth. While the company remains lean and entrepreneurial, the executive team recognises the importance of building a robust finance function ahead of the next phase of expansion.Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with an impressive executive leadership team that has successfully built and scaled category-leading technology businesses, you will have the opportunity to shape finance from the ground up and become a trusted commercial partner to the wider organisation.The OpportunityThis is far more than a traditional controllership role.You will be responsible for creating the finance function's operating framework, establishing best-in-class financial reporting processes, implementing controls and governance, and developing a single source of truth for financial information across the organisation.You will play a central role in helping the business transition from start-up foundations to a scalable operating model, ensuring finance can support strategic decision-making and future growth initiatives.Key responsibilities will include:Building and developing core finance processes, controls and policiesEstablishing robust monthly reporting and management information packsCreating a reliable and scalable financial reporting frameworkDriving improvements in systems, automation and financial data qualityPartnering with leadership to support commercial and strategic decision-makingManaging external relationships including auditors, tax advisers and outsourced providersSupporting future fundraising, expansion and growth initiativesDeveloping a finance function capable of supporting rapid scaleThe CandidateWe are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA preferred) who combines strong technical finance expertise with experience operating within high-growth technology environments.You will thrive in entrepreneurial businesses where resources are limited, priorities evolve quickly, and there is an expectation to roll up your sleeves and solve problems.The successful candidate will likely demonstrate:ACA qualification, ideally trained within a Big 4 or leading accountancy practicePost-qualification industry experience within a SaaS, software or technology businessExperience operating in a startup, scale-up or high-growth environmentStrong financial control, reporting and process improvement expertiseProven experience building or significantly enhancing finance functionsThe ability to operate both strategically and hands-onExcellent stakeholder management and business partnering skillsA commercial mindset with the ability to influence decision-making across the businessWhy Join?Opportunity to build a finance function from the ground upSignificant exposure to an outstanding executive leadership teamJoin a business at an exciting stage before major growthBroad remit spanning finance operations, controls, reporting and commercial supportGenuine opportunity to influence the future direction of the companyDynamic, entrepreneurial and collaborative culturePotential for longer-term career progression as the business scales
