Group Financial Controller

Financial Controller - Internationalup to £95k4 days a week in the office - West LondonWe are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic, international finance function. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for controllership activities across a portfolio of international commercial entities.You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting experience and a proven background in audit and financial reporting. You will be comfortable operating in a complex, international environment and working across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.Responsibilities will include:Manage all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring accounting practices comply with relevant company policies and requirementsOwn period-end accounting and ensure timely and accurate group reporting across multiple international entitiesPrepare and oversee quarterly reporting packs, transfer pricing calculations/estimates and tax submissionsSupport US GAAP reporting requirements, including embedded derivative calculations, quarterly balance sheet net-downs and commitments schedulesEnsure significant accounting transactions are reported appropriately and on a timely basisSupport the implementation of relevant accounting standards and prepare technical accounting papers and memos where requiredSupport an effective internal control environment and ensure appropriate controls are operating effectivelyTake ownership of statutory audits and ensure all relevant compliance requirements are met, including statutory accounts, tax reporting and applicable information returnsAct as the key point of contact for offshore shared-service teams supporting the relevant entitiesPrepare and maintain entity-level cash flow forecasts, working closely with Treasury to ensure funding requirements are appropriately managedWork closely with HR and external providers to ensure payroll and benefits payments are processed accurately and on timeReview and ensure HR-related expenses are correctly recordedLead, support and develop members of the finance team, providing appropriate guidance, training and supervision to achieve individual and team objectivesContribute to ad-hoc finance projects and other activities as requiredCandidate Specification:Progressive experience in audit and accounting, with Big Four experience desirableQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Approximately 5+ years' post-qualified experienceStrong technical accounting skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality accounting papers and technical memos.Solid knowledge and practical experience of US GAAPExperience operating within a SOX control environmentStrong understanding of core financial processes, including month/period-end close, financial reporting and internal controlsKnowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAPPrevious team management or people leadership experienceExperience working within a global or multinational organisationExperience within the media, entertainment, sports or sports-rights sectorFamiliarity with SAP and OneSource Tax Provision
