Apply & track with Apply EdgeVickerstock are working in partnership with a growing engineering and electrical manufacturing group on the appointment of a Group SHEQ Advisor.Working closely with senior management, you will act as the key point of contact for SHEQ matters across the Group, with responsibility spanning Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, ISO management systems, auditing, incident investigation, contractor compliance and employee engagement.In your new role:Act as the primary point of contact for SHEQ matters across multiple Group operationsMaintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001Provide practical SHEQ advice and guidance to management, employees, contractors and other stakeholdersConduct workplace and site inspections, identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implementedDevelop and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and safe systems of workLead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, completing root cause analysis and tracking actions through to close-outCoordinate internal audits and support external certification and customer auditsMonitor SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring policies and procedures remain compliantDeliver SHEQ inductions, toolbox talks and employee awareness initiatives across the businessCoordinate training requirements, competency records, health surveillance and relevant statutory inspectionsManage contractor and subcontractor compliance, including PQQs, competency requirements and associated recordsMonitor SHEQ KPIs and performance trends, providing reports and recommendations to senior managementMaintain accurate SHEQ documentation, registers and records to support compliance and certification requirementsPromote a proactive culture of Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental responsibility and continuous improvement across the GroupWhat you'll need to succeed:NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification3+ years' experience within a SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Compliance roleExperience working independently and taking ownership of SHEQ responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systemsStrong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and practical compliance requirementsExperience conducting workplace inspections, internal audits and incident investigationsExperience developing and reviewing RAMS and safe systems of workStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levelsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Group and customer locations when requiredDesirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):Degree, Diploma or additional qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality or a related disciplineInternal Auditor qualificationExperience within engineering, electrical manufacturing, construction or a similar technical environmentExperience supporting external ISO certification or customer auditsExperience using dedicated SHEQ management softwareFor a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health & Safety Specialist, today.
