The district values professional development, evidence-based practices, and a culture of respect and continuous improvement.Role Description The GSRP Lead Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Dearborn Heights, MI. The Lead Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with GSRP standards, focusing on early childhood learning across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing classroom materials, leading small and large group instruction, observing and documenting student progress, and adapting instruction to support individual learner needs. The Lead Teacher collaborates with teaching assistants, support staff, and families, conducts regular communication with caregivers, and participates in parent conferences, team meetings, and professional development. The role also involves maintaining a safe, organized classroom environment, following school and state guidelines, and ensuring compliance with GSRP program requirements.Qualifications Strong foundational knowledge in Education and early childhood development, with experience in structured preschool or kindergarten settings.Proficiency in Lesson Planning and curriculum implementation, including the ability to design developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned activities.Demonstrated skills in Teaching and classroom management, with the ability to support diverse learning styles and needs.Effective Communication abilities for collaborating with colleagues, engaging families, and documenting student progress clearly and professionally.Experience in Training or mentoring classroom staff, supporting paraprofessionals, and contributing to a collaborative teaching team.Relevant degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; appropriate Michigan teaching certification or eligibility preferred.Knowledge of GSRP guidelines, child assessment tools, and positive behavior support strategies is highly beneficial.Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive classroom, follow school policies, and engage in ongoing professional learning.
