Hands-on CTO / Head of EngineeringPython, Django, AWS, DevOps & Information SecurityJane is an Israeli technology platform serving the regulated medical cannabis and pharmacy sectors.We are looking for a full-time, hands-on technology leader to take end-to-end ownership of our engineering, cloud infrastructure and operational information security.This is not a high-level advisory role. It is a Player-Coach position combining team leadership with active work in code, architecture, production systems, DevOps and security.Responsibilities• Lead and manage a small, distributed engineering team• Remain actively involved in backend development, architecture, code reviews and complex production issues• Own the Python/Django backend, APIs, integrations and technical roadmap• Own AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, backups, disaster recovery and cloud costs• Lead operational information security and SecOps, including IAM, MFA, VPN, MDM, WAF, EDR, vulnerability management and incident response• Serve as the company’s operational Information Security Officer; formal CISO responsibilities may be assigned according to regulatory requirements• Lead Secure SDLC, security reviews, penetration testing remediation and risk management• Work with external security, legal and regulatory advisers on ISO 27001, ISO 27799, privacy and Ministry of Health requirements• Translate business and product priorities into practical engineering plans and reliable delivery• Reduce technical debt, eliminate single-person dependencies and maintain complete technical documentationMust have• 8+ years of software engineering experience• Recent hands-on backend development experience• Strong Python experience; production Django experience is highly preferred• Proven ownership of production systems on AWS• Practical DevOps experience, including CI/CD, Docker, monitoring and infrastructure automation• Practical responsibility for information security or SecOps• Experience directly managing and mentoring software engineers• Ability to investigate and resolve complex production incidents• Strong Hebrew and English communication• Willingness to work as a full-time salaried employee in an exclusive role, without ongoing external clients or consulting workAdvantages• Experience as a CTO, Head of Engineering or R&D Manager in a small or mid-sized company• Healthcare, pharmacy, fintech or other regulated-industry experience• ISO 27001 / ISO 27799, privacy regulation or CISO experience• LLM and AI systems in production• Experience working with remote engineering teamsEmployment• Full-time salaried position• Primarily remote in Israel, with occasional in-person meetings• Gross monthly salary: ₪35,000• Pension, severance arrangement and study fund• Availability for material production or security incidents when reasonably requiredPlease apply only if you are comfortable combining leadership with regular hands-on technical work.
