For more information about ECCO Select, visit us at www.eccoselect.com.Position Title: Hardware/Lab TechnicianLocation Information Onsite – Santa Clara, CAPosition Responsibilities:We are seeking a hands-on Hardware/Lab Technician to provide support for daily operations in a dynamic lab environment. In this role, you will work closely with both prototype and production hardware, taking ownership of system assembly, testing, configuration, troubleshooting, deployment, repair, inventory, and lifecycle management tasks. You’ll play a key role in supporting engineering and R&D teams by ensuring lab operations run smoothly and that all equipment is well maintained and documented.Key responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day operational support for hardware engineering labs, including set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server and networking systems.
- Assembly, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, and deployment of hardware systems.
- Hands-on work with prototype hardware, servers, PCs, networking equipment, power gear, and lab fixtures.
- Management of lab inventory, asset tracking, ticketing, documentation, and overall hardware lifecycle processes.
- Maintaining lab safety standards, including safe handling of critical or pre-production hardware.
- Supporting hardware validation, RF testing, and operational needs with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Collaborating and communicating clearly with engineers, vendors, operations teams, and other cross-functional partners.
- Creating or assisting with process documentation, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Contributing to the continual improvement of lab operations to ensure efficiency and reliability. Essential Skills, Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical environment such as an engineering lab, data center, hardware validation lab, or wireless testing lab.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware, PC components, networking gear, power equipment, and prototype or pre-production systems.
- Proficiency in assembling, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, and deploying hardware systems.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills; adept at inventory, asset tracking, ticketing, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Understanding of lab safety protocols and safe handling of sensitive or pre-production hardware.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with engineers, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates may also bring:
- Experience with Linux systems, BIOS or firmware updates, BMC/IPMI, server bring-up, or hardware debug processes.
- Exposure to RF/5G testing environments or familiarity with lab automation tools.
- Background supporting R&D teams working with silicon, board-level hardware, platforms, or pre-production systems.
