This role oversees daily hatchery operations, including egg collection, incubation, hatching, and early chick care, to ensure high productivity and animal welfare standards. The Hatchery Manager will monitor equipment performance, manage environmental conditions, maintain strict biosecurity, and ensure accurate records for hatch rates and stock health. Responsibilities include supervising and training hatchery staff, organizing work schedules, implementing standard operating procedures, and coordinating with farm management on production targets and inventory needs. The Hatchery Manager will also support regulatory compliance, safety practices, and continuous process improvements to enhance hatchery efficiency and quality.Qualifications Experience in hatchery or poultry farm management, with strong knowledge of incubation processes and chick care.Skills in staff supervision, team coordination, and training, with the ability to lead diverse teams safely and effectively.Competence in recordkeeping, basic data analysis, and use of farm or hatchery management systems to track performance and inventory.Understanding of biosecurity, animal welfare standards, and relevant agricultural regulations or industry best practices.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with farm leadership and other operational departments.Physical ability to work in hatchery conditions, including standing for extended periods and safely handling equipment and livestock.Diploma or degree in agriculture, animal science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
