C2i is recruiting for Time Out Market, to build the team behind one of Abu Dhabi's most anticipated openings. We're looking for passionate professionals to join us as we prepare to open Abu Dhabi's first Time Out Market — a vibrant new destination for food, culture and entertainment under one roof!ABOUT THE ROLEWe love what we do – and it shows! Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.Our Market Head Barista provides outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoys a memorable experience with every visit.WHAT YOU'LL DOWelcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional serviceTake customer orders accurately and efficientlyRecommend menu items, seasonal beverages and promotionsAddress customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptlyPrepare and serve coffee, tea and specialty beverages according to quality standardsOperate espresso machines, coffee grinders and other café equipment safely and efficientlyEnsure beverages are presented consistently and attractivelyMonitor beverage quality and maintain consistency in every orderProcess customer payments accurately using the POS system and issue transaction receiptsMaintain a clean, organised and sanitary work area at all timesClean coffee machines, counters, utensils and kitchen areas regularlyFollow company hygiene and food safety standards, including HACCP proceduresDispose of waste properly and keep workstations well stockedMonitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups and other suppliesRestock products during shifts and observe FIFO (First-In, First-Out)Perform daily cleaning and ensure coffee machines and equipment are in good conditionEnsure equipment is operated safely and according to manufacturer guidelines, reporting malfunctions or maintenance issues immediatelyWork collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth café operationsSupport colleagues during busy periodsFollow all health, safety and food safety regulationsWear the required uniform and maintain high personal hygiene standardsReport hazards, accidents or unsafe conditions promptlyComplete opening and closing duties according to café proceduresMaintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients and current promotionsMaintain company safety and sanitation standardsEnsure nightly, weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completedRecord and report any equipment failure or safety hazards to a manager immediatelyCreate a positive and memorable guest experiencePerform other duties assigned by the Café Supervisor and managers to support daily operationsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORMinimum of six months to one year of direct work experiencePOS systems experienceKnowledge of drink recipes and beverage presentationExperience in high-volume operations, opening and closing duties, guest relations, and sanitation and safetyAbility to create and maintain a sense of urgencyAbility to perform basic mathematical equationsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in English, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients and the publicAbility to maintain composure, personal integrity and a high level of confidentialityAbility to demonstrate a positive attitude always and listen empatheticallyAbility to work as a team, stay organised, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisionsAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy environment, work under pressure and meet deadlinesHigh School Diploma preferredTHE ENVIRONMENTRestaurant environment with varying levels of noise and crowds depending on guest volume. The role is physically active — extended periods standing, moving at pace, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. A professional, neat and well-groomed appearance is required at all times.
