Head Bartender

Role Description This full-time Head Bartender role at Cést La Vie Bar Lounge is an on-site position based in San Juan. The Head Bartender oversees daily bar operations, including preparing and serving beverages, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role leads and trains bar staff, sets service standards, and coordinates with the kitchen and floor teams to deliver a seamless guest experience. Responsibilities include creating and updating drink menus, monitoring stock and ordering supplies, handling cash and POS transactions, and resolving guest issues in a professional manner. The Head Bartender is also expected to support opening and closing procedures, maintain a clean and organized bar, and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.Qualifications Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive guest experiences.Excellent Communication abilities for coordinating with team members, interacting with guests, and giving clear instructions.Solid Food & Beverage knowledge, including cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and responsible serving practices.Proficient Bartending skills, including drink preparation, bar setup, speed, accuracy, and presentation.Reliable Cash Handling skills and familiarity with POS systems and basic sales reconciliation.Previous experience as a Head Bartender or lead bartender in a high-volume or upscale environment.Ability to lead, train, and motivate bar staff while maintaining a respectful, collaborative atmosphere.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to cleanliness and safety standards.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Legal authorization to work in the location and proficiency in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
