KLOUDACHead of Accounting & Financial ReportingDubai, UAE | Full-Time Company: KLOUDAC Department : Accounting & Financial Reporting Reporting Level : Senior Leadership Qualification : Chartered Accountant - MandatoryAbout KLOUDACKLOUDAC is a growing UAE-based professional services firm providing Accounting, Taxation, Audit, Business Advisory and Corporate Services to a diverse portfolio of businesses across multiple industries.As we continue to expand our client base and accounting operations, we are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our Dubai office and take ownership of the technical quality and high-level review of our clients' accounting and financial reporting.The RoleThis is a senior technical accounting and review position. The successful candidate will act as the key quality-control layer between our accounting teams and clients, ensuring that financial records, management accounts and financial statements are technically accurate, properly supported and compliant with applicable accounting standards.This position is particularly suited to a Chartered Accountant with strong IFRS knowledge, audit/review experience and the ability to identify accounting issues beyond routine bookkeeping.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Review·       Perform high-level reviews of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts prepared by accounting teams.·       Review Trial Balances, General Ledgers, Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements and supporting schedules.·       Ensure proper reconciliation and substantiation of all material balance-sheet accounts.·       Review complex accounting treatments and ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.·       Review revenue recognition, including deferred and accrued revenue.·       Review accruals, prepayments, provisions and other period-end adjustments.·       Review fixed assets, depreciation and impairment considerations.·       Review intercompany and related-party transactions.·       Review shareholder/director accounts and loans.·       Ensure proper accounting treatment of leases, financing arrangements and other significant transactions.Financial Reporting·       Review monthly and quarterly management accounts before submission to clients.·       Review annual financial statements and supporting schedules.·       Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable IFRS requirements.·       Coordinate with external auditors and resolve accounting and audit queries.·       Minimise year-end audit adjustments through strong accounting controls throughout the year.UAE Accounting & Tax Alignment·       Ensure accounting records are properly maintained to support UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.·       Work closely with the Tax, VAT and Audit teams to identify accounting matters that may have tax or regulatory implications.·       Review accounting treatment of VAT, Corporate Tax provisions and other statutory balances.Quality Control·       Establish and maintain accounting review checklists and standard operating procedures.·       Ensure accounting files have sufficient supporting documentation and audit trails.·       Identify recurring accounting errors and implement corrective measures.·       Perform risk-based reviews of higher-risk and key client accounts.·       Ensure significant accounting issues are identified internally before reports are released to clients, auditors, banks or other stakeholders.Team Leadership & Development·       Provide technical guidance to accountants, senior accountants and accounting managers.·       Review the quality of work performed by the accounting team and provide structured feedback.·       Conduct regular technical accounting and IFRS training.·       Work closely with the back-office accounting operation to continuously improve accounting quality.·       Develop stronger review controls and accountability across the accounting function.Candidate RequirementsMandatory·       Qualified Chartered Accountant - CA / ACA or equivalent recognised Chartered Accountancy qualification.·       Minimum 8+ years of relevant accounting, audit and/or financial reporting experience.·       Strong practical knowledge of IFRS.·       Significant experience reviewing financial statements and complex accounting transactions.·       Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.·       Strong attention to detail and ability to identify accounting inconsistencies.·       Excellent written and spoken English.·       Ability to manage and review multiple client accounts simultaneously.Highly Preferred·       Previous experience with a Big 4, mid-tier audit firm, accounting firm or professional services environment.·       UAE accounting experience.·       Experience reviewing accounting work performed by offshore or back-office teams.·       Knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax from an accounting and financial reporting perspective.·       Experience with Xero, Zoho Books and QuickBooks Online.·       Experience managing a portfolio of clients across different industries.What We Are Looking ForWe are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to routine bookkeeping.
