Head of Accounting

This role reports to the CFO and oversees accounting operations both in Germany and internationally, including both in-house (x 5) and outsourced (offshore) resources.Key elements include:Financial consolidation - setting up processes and overseeing, collaborating with regional teamsTax compliance and strategyProcess and system implementation, developing and ensuring policies and proceduresTeam leadership and management, ensuring alignment and consistencyStakeholder collaboration - with executives to support strategic decision making, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and reportingContinuous improvement, staying informed on trends and regulatory changes,The role will be based out of their Berlin office on a hybrid basis.They are looking for:Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldSignificant accounting experience with leadership experienceExperience in implementing accounting systems and process improvements, including exposure to digital transformation/improvementStrong knowledge of international accounting standards, tax regulations, IFRSGood knowledge of German GAAP/HGBTrack record in managing financial consolidations for multinational entitiesStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentGood level of EnglishGood experience of using & optimising NetsuiteThey will consider candidates from an audit/big 4 or similar background, as well as candidates from industry.Advantageous but not essential:German languagePolish languageCPA or equivalent certificationExperience and expertise in setting up compliance/governance framework in a high-growth organisation, internationallyUnderstanding of European ESG regulationseCommerce environment experienceExperience of working with outsourced resources
