Head of Accounting | Berlin | TechI’m currently supporting a fast-growing international Tech company in Berlin in the search for a Head of Accounting to take ownership of its accounting function and help shape the next stage of its finance organisation.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a genuine interest in building, improving and scaling finance processes.The RoleAs Head of Accounting, you will:Take ownership of the company’s accounting function and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closingsLead and develop the accounting team while remaining close to the operational topicsEnsure compliance with relevant German accounting and statutory requirementsCoordinate external auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholdersContinuously improve accounting processes, controls and reporting structuresDrive automation, digitalisation and ERP/process improvement initiativesWork closely with Controlling, Finance, Tax and other business functionsSupport the development of a scalable finance organisation as the company continues to growAct as a key sparring partner to senior finance leadershipYour BackgroundWe’re looking for someone with:+8 years of experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting or Group AccountingStrong knowledge of HGB; IFRS exposure is highly advantageousPrevious leadership experience or clear experience taking ownership of teams and complex accounting topicsExperience with monthly and annual closing processesA strong understanding of accounting systems, processes and internal controlsAn interest in automation, process optimisation and finance transformationA pragmatic, hands-on mindset combined with the ability to operate at a strategic levelStrong communication and stakeholder-management skillsProfessional fluency in German and EnglishIf interested, please get in touch for a confidential chat.
