Head of AI Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

Role OverviewA senior technology leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering executive to lead the architecture and evolution of scalable platforms supporting advanced software and data-driven capabilities.The role will own the technical direction for platform architecture, with a particular focus on designing foundations that can scale as technology products, workloads and engineering requirements grow. This includes setting architectural principles, guiding engineering decisions and ensuring the underlying platforms can support increasingly sophisticated applications and services.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the overall architecture and engineering direction for scalable technology platforms.Establish robust platform foundations that can support growing workloads, applications and engineering teams.Lead architectural decisions across platform design, scalability, reliability, performance and long-term extensibility.Translate evolving technology requirements into practical platform and engineering strategies.Provide senior technical leadership on complex architecture and engineering challenges.Establish appropriate engineering standards, principles and practices to support sustainable platform development.Work closely with senior technology and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with broader organisational objectives.Challenge existing approaches where necessary and identify opportunities to improve platform architecture, engineering effectiveness and scalability.Oversee the evolution of platform capabilities as technology requirements and workloads change.Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering leaders and senior technical professionals.Balance immediate delivery requirements with longer-term architectural integrity and platform strategy.

Requirements
