Head of Artificial Intelligence & Innovation

About the Role:We are looking for a Head of AI and Innovation to lead the adoption of artificial intelligence across the organization. This is a senior, cross functional leadership role that runs on two fronts at once: automating and streamlining our internal functions, and shaping how AI strengthens the products and services we deliver to our clients.These two mandates move in parallel, not in sequence. On one side, you will drive efficiency by identifying where AI and automation can remove manual effort, reduce cost, and speed up decision making across departments such as Finance, HR, and Administration. On the other, you will drive competitive advantage by working alongside product and engineering leadership to embed AI into what we build and sell, so that our offerings stay ahead of the market.We want someone who holds both of these as one continuous mission. You will operate close to internal operations and close to product at the same time, carrying a single AI vision across the whole business.What You Will Do:Internal automation and transformationMap repetitive, manual, and rules based workflows across Finance, HR, Admin, and other operational functions, and identify the highest value candidates for AI and automation.Design and lead the rollout of automation solutions, from quick wins to larger platform level initiatives.Evaluate build versus buy decisions, select tools and vendors, and manage implementation partners where needed.Establish clear metrics for success, and report measurable gains in efficiency, cost, accuracy, and turnaround time.Drive adoption through change management, training, and stakeholder buy in, so that new ways of working actually stick.Product and service innovationPartner with product and engineering leadership to identify where AI can improve, differentiate, or expand our existing offerings.Translate emerging AI capabilities into practical, revenue relevant opportunities for the business.Prototype and pilot AI driven features and services, and help build the case for scaling the ones that work.Keep leadership informed on the AI landscape, including new models, tools, and competitor moves that could affect our position.AI governance and enablementDefine responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, quality, and appropriate human oversight.Set standards and guardrails for how AI is adopted safely and consistently across the organization.Build internal AI literacy so teams across the business can understand and work with these tools.What We Are Looking For:Proven experience leading AI, automation, or digital initiatives, with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.Strong understanding of AI and machine learning capabilities, and the practical judgment to know where they add real value versus where they do not.Experience automating business processes, ideally across functions such as Finance, HR, or Operations.The ability to run internal operations work and product facing work at the same time, and to move comfortably between technical detail and business strategy.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to influence leadership and the clarity to bring non technical teams along.Comfort with ambiguity, and the initiative to shape a role that spans both operations and product from day one.Nice to HaveHands on familiarity with modern AI tooling, large language models, and automation platforms.Exposure to product development or a product driven technology environment.Experience setting up AI governance or responsible AI frameworks.Why This Role MattersThis is not a maintenance role.
