The role sits within the core Group Risk function and plays a critical part in safeguarding the bank’s asset quality. The successful candidate will assume full leadership responsibility for the Restructuring and Collections units, managing a dedicated team of 8 professionals and steering the bank’s approach toward complex delinquent and non-performing exposures (NPEs) across corporate and retail portfolios.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Leadership: Direct and lead the Restructuring and Collections units, managing a team of 8 employees to optimize recovery outcomes and mitigate credit risk.Portfolio Management: Formulate and execute robust recovery strategies for complex delinquent, distressed, and non-performing exposures (NPEs) across both corporate and retail portfolios.Negotiation & Restructuring: Lead complex debt restructuring negotiations, settlement arrangements, and workout plans to maximize recovery while protecting the bank's commercial interests.Regulatory & Legal Compliance: Ensure full alignment with local regulatory expectations (Qatar Central Bank guidelines) and legal recovery frameworks within Qatar and the wider GCC market.Stakeholder & Partner Management: Maintain strong collaboration with senior internal stakeholders, executive management, the Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO), and external legal and recovery partners.Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve collection workflows, operational efficiency, and recovery performance metrics across the bank.Candidate Profile & QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in asset recovery, remedial management, collections, and debt restructuring within the banking sector.Leadership Track Record: At least 4 years in a senior leadership or management role leading recovery/workout teams.Market Expertise: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the Qatar and wider GCC banking market, including regional credit practices, legal recovery processes, and regulatory environments.Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related discipline. A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification is preferred.Core Competencies: Exceptional credit judgment, advanced financial analysis, high-stakes negotiation skills, and strong senior stakeholder management capabilities.Language Skills: Proficiency in English is mandatory; Arabic fluency is a strong preference.
