Role:Head of Battery & Energy Storage – Advanced Aerospace ProgrammeLocation: Dubai, UAEWorking Arrangement: Office-BasedThis isn't supply chain management. This is owning the longest-lead certification unknown on a next-generation manned aircraft.The MissionWe need a delivery leader to build the battery domain from scratch. You will recruit the team, stand up the test capability, and deliver the qualification evidence for a novel propulsion system. Cell characterisation, abuse and propagation testing cannot be compressed once the schedule is set, your job is to make that evidence arrive on time.What You'll OwnYou own the plan, schedule, cost, and supplier performance. You will build cell characterisation, abuse, and high-voltage test facilities before the campaign needs them.Through Phase 1, you act as the pack architect sizing, reviewing designs, and staying hands-on. You will recruit specialised engineers in a thin global market and develop them into a cohesive team. You balance resources between design work and the test campaign, and you own the safe execution of high-voltage work without compromise. You deliver interface commitments to Propulsion, Structures, and Airframe integration on time, and you build sovereign in-country capability for assembly and test.Who We're Looking ForA hands-on leader who has delivered battery hardware through a full test campaign.Must-Haves:12+ years in battery or power systems engineering, with at least five on airborne or safety-critical applications.Delivered a battery development through to a completed test campaign, accountable for the plan and schedule.Stood up or materially expanded battery test capability - facilities, equipment, procedures and the safety case.Hands-on pack architecture credibility - you can size and lay out a pack and challenge analysis on the merits.Supplier delivery management for long-lead items, including recovery when performance fails.Planning, estimating and cost ownership on a programme with a physical test campaign.Comfortable operating in a paired delivery/technical-authority model.Highly Desirable:eVTOL, electric or hybrid-electric propulsion experience.Greenfield programme experience, building capability in a new region.Qualification to a rechargeable-lithium airworthiness standard.Hot-climate operations and production ramp experience.Advanced engineering degree.We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
