Role: Head of Cloud Engineering & AutomationMAJOR REQUIREMENT-***** Client need a Cloud + DevOps/DevSecOps Engineering Leader who has built/scaled the engineering platforms behind AI-based applications.****Job SummaryWe are seeking a visionary and hands-on leader to head Cloud Engineering & Automation. This role will drive enterprise cloud strategy, infrastructure transformation, and automation initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms while championing automation across infrastructure, operations, software delivery, and business processes.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Strategy & EngineeringDefine and execute enterprise cloud strategy aligned with business objectives.Lead design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.Establish cloud architecture standards, governance, security, and operational best practices.Drive cloud migration, modernization, and cloud-native application initiatives.Ensure high availability, scalability, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity.Automation & Platform EngineeringDevelop and implement enterprise-wide automation strategy to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or Pulumi.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployments, patching, backups, monitoring, and compliance.Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices for rapid, reliable software delivery.Deliver self-service platforms and automated developer enablement capabilities.Evaluate and implement AI-driven automation, workflow automation, and orchestration solutions.Standardize operational processes through scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).Leadership & GovernanceBuild, mentor, and lead high-performing Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Automation teams.Define engineering standards, KPIs, operational metrics, and service level objectives (SLOs).Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, and Business stakeholders.Manage cloud vendors, technology partners, and enterprise platform roadmaps.Drive engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.Security & ComplianceEnsure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.Implement automated security controls, vulnerability management, policy enforcement, and compliance monitoring.Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen cloud security posture and DevSecOps practices.Financial & Operational ManagementOptimize cloud spending through FinOps practices and resource governance.Manage budgets, licensing, vendor contracts, and technology investments.Continuously improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, and service quality through automation and observability.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).12–18+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Enterprise Infrastructure.5+ years leading engineering and infrastructure teams.Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Pulumi).Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and orchestration tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK).Strong understanding of networking, identity management, cloud security, and DevSecOps.Proven experience managing enterprise-scale cloud transformation and automation programs.Preferred QualificationsAWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect certification.Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD).Experience with FinOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering.Experience implementing AIOps, intelligent automation, or workflow automation solutions.Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.Key CompetenciesCloud Strategy & ArchitectureEnterprise AutomationDevOps & DevSecOpsPlatform EngineeringInfrastructure as Code (IaC)CI/CD & Release AutomationCloud Security & GovernanceAI-Driven Automation & OrchestrationLeadership & People DevelopmentStakeholder & Vendor ManagementFinancial Management (FinOps)Innovation & Continuous ImprovementInterested Candidates can mail their cv at simmi@hiresquad.in
