Head of Data Engineering

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead a growing data engineering function and help shape the future of a modern Databricks-based data platform.This is a senior leadership role for someone who can combine hands-on technical expertise with strong people and engineering leadership, driving data strategy, architecture and delivery across the organisation.🔹 The RoleYou’ll lead the data engineering team, setting technical direction and best practices while overseeing the design and delivery of scalable data platforms and pipelines.You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, Data, AI and Technology teams to ensure the data platform supports both current and future business requirements.🔹 Key ExperienceProven experience leading Data Engineering teamsStrong hands-on experience with DatabricksExpertise across Azure / Cloud Data PlatformsStrong Python, PySpark and SQLDeep understanding of Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake and data pipelinesExperience with data architecture, governance and engineering best practicesStrong understanding of CI/CD and DevOpsExperience leading technical strategy and large-scale data projectsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDesirable: Unity Catalog, Lakeflow, Lakehouse Federation, Terraform, Azure Data Factory and experience supporting AI / GenAI initiatives.
