Head of Data & AI – Up to £110,000Permanent | Hybrid – 2–3 Days per Month in the OfficeI'm recruiting for an experienced Head of Data & AI to join a growing organisation looking to develop its data science and artificial intelligence capabilities.The business is at an early stage of its AI journey, making this an opportunity to shape the strategy, introduce new AI capabilities and build a high-performing team.This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with technical delivery.The RoleDevelop and deliver the organisation's Data Science & AI strategyIdentify opportunities to introduce AI, machine learning and automationRemain hands-on with data science, modelling and AI solutionsLead, mentor and develop an existing small teamHelp build and grow the Data & AI functionWork with senior stakeholders to identify business challenges and deliver practical solutionsProvide technical direction across data science, AI and the supporting data infrastructureSkills & ExperienceStrong background in Data Science, Machine Learning and AIExperience developing and delivering Data & AI strategiesHands-on experience building and implementing data science / AI solutionsGood understanding of Data Engineering, Data Platforms and ArchitectureExperience leading, mentoring or developing technical teamsStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience helping organisations develop or mature their AI capabilitiesWe're particularly interested in candidates who can operate strategically while remaining technically hands-on, rather than someone focused purely on management.PackageUp to £110,000 base salaryHybrid working – just 2–3 days per month in the officeOther benefits includedThis would suit an experienced Head of Data Science, Head of AI, Data Science Lead or AI/ML Lead looking to take ownership of an organisation's Data & AI direction.If you're passionate about building AI capabilities and want the opportunity to shape a function from an early stage, please get in touch.
