As we grow, we’re looking for like-minded people who are excited by lifelong learning, eager to challenge existing ways of working, and motivated to make a real impact in an AI-driven world.INFERENCE GROUP |LONDON, UK | HYBRID| PERMANENTSalary: Up to £120,000 per annumRole OverviewWe’re looking for an experienced Head of Delivery to lead the successful delivery of enterprise AI solutions for our clients, bringing together delivery excellence, technical understanding and commercial awareness.This is a senior consulting leadership role combining a sound understanding of AI and enterprise technology with strong operational leadership, commercial awareness and client engagement. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to understand complex business challenges, guide scalable AI and data solutions, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver production-ready outcomes that create measurable business value.You’ll play a key role in shaping our AI consulting capability, establishing delivery best practices, mentoring consultants and engineers, and supporting business growth through technical direction and trusted client relationships.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex delivery challenges, thrives in client-facing consulting environments, and is excited by the rapidly evolving world of AI.

Location: London-based hybrid working, with regular time alongside the team in the office and occasional travel to customer sites.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer visa sponsorship.What You’ll DoDelivery Leadership & Operational ExcellenceOwn the end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI, data and transformation programmes, ensuring quality, sound governance and client satisfaction.Build scalable delivery processes, frameworks and ways of working as the business grows.Oversee programme planning, dependencies, risks, delivery timelines, resource allocation and capacity across client engagements.Bring visibility and accountability to project costing, budgets, delivery performance, financial outcomes and team utilisation.Establish practical operational structures, policies and governance, connecting delivery with the wider needs of the business.Lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams of AI Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects and Consultants, fostering collaboration, clarity and accountability.AI Transformation & Technical DirectionHelp clients understand how AI can transform business processes, operating models and everyday workflows, moving beyond isolated use cases.Provide informed technical direction and challenge across AI, data and integration solutions, ensuring scalable, secure architectures aligned to business goals.Guide practical use of modern AI tooling, LLMs and agentic systems, including where AI can improve the way our own teams deliver.Oversee the integration of AI into existing enterprise platforms, data environments and business workflows.Champion responsible AI, security, data governance, engineering quality and fit-for-purpose delivery controls.Balance innovation with the cost, effort, risk, adoption and measurable value of new technologies.Commercial & Client LeadershipBuild trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and turn complex business challenges into achievable delivery strategies.Own robust delivery estimates, resource assumptions and implementation plans, ensuring commitments are both credible and commercially sound.Support pre-sales discovery, solution shaping, proposals and client presentations.Communicate clearly, manage expectations and challenge assumptions constructively when circumstances change.Help shape and grow Inference Group’s AI consulting capability through delivery excellence and continuous improvement.What You’ll BringA track record of leading complex technology, AI, data or digital transformation delivery within consulting or professional services.Experience taking accountability for several client engagements, including delivery quality, people, budgets, risks and operational performance.A strong practical understanding of enterprise AI: how organisations adopt it, where it adds value and what it takes to move solutions into everyday operations.The technical fluency to work confidently with architects and engineers, ask the right questions and make informed delivery decisions; you do not need to be the person writing every line of code.Experience bringing structure, governance and repeatable processes to a growing or changing business.Commercial judgement across estimates, delivery economics, resource planning and utilisation.Evidence of developing multidisciplinary teams and bringing people together around common goals.Clear, effective engagement with senior business and technology stakeholders, including the confidence to manage complex conversations.A collaborative leadership approach, combining strategic perspective with attention to the detail that makes delivery work.Experience That Would Be An AdvantageLeading programmes that embed AI, automation or intelligent agents into operational workflows.Familiarity with modern LLMs and AI tools such as Claude and OpenAI, and an informed perspective on their responsible use.Exposure to enterprise architecture, integration, Azure/cloud platforms, data engineering and governance.Understanding of technologies such as Python, APIs, Azure DevOps, MDM, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or Microsoft Purview.Having helped establish or scale a consulting delivery capability.What Success Looks LikeDuring your first 12 months, you can expect to:Establish a clear, consistent and high-quality delivery approach across client engagements.Successfully oversee enterprise AI and transformation programmes from discovery through production and adoption.Create greater operational visibility around resourcing, delivery performance, project costing and commercial outcomes.Become a trusted partner to clients and internal leadership.Build a high-performing, supported and accountable delivery team.Help clients progress from AI experimentation to meaningful adoption and measurable operational value.Contribute to commercial growth through reliable estimating, effective planning and strong client relationships.Help shape the next stage of Inference Group’s consulting practice.A Note on Your BackgroundWe believe great delivery leaders come from different paths.
