Head of Department

Role Description The Head of Department role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for leading departmental strategy, setting objectives, and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall security and business goals. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing team performance, coordinating projects, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The Head of Department will collaborate with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive service quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The role also involves mentoring team members, implementing best practices, and reporting on departmental progress and risks.QualificationsDemonstrated leadership experience in managing teams, setting departmental strategy, and overseeing complex projects.Professional background in computer and network security or a related technology field, with solid understanding of security frameworks and best practices.Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities, including experience with budgeting, resource management, and performance monitoring.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and levels of seniority.Experience working in hybrid environments, balancing on-site and remote work, and using digital collaboration tools efficiently.Relevant academic qualification such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related discipline.Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) and prior experience in the Gulf region or international settings are considered an advantage.
