Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description The Head of Development will lead and oversee research and development activities, ensuring that projects are effectively planned, executed, and delivered to meet scientific and business objectives. This part-time, hybrid role is based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with a combination of on-site work and flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing development pipelines, supervising R&D teams, coordinating cross-functional collaboration, and monitoring project milestones and budgets. The role also involves setting technical direction, reviewing experimental designs and data, optimizing processes, and maintaining alignment with regulatory and quality standards. The Head of Development will mentor team members, contribute to strategic planning, and represent the development function in internal and external meetings.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, solve technical problems, and guide evidence-based decisions.Candidates should possess Team Management and Team Leadership skills to supervise multidisciplinary teams, foster collaboration, and drive performance.Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) expertise to design experiments, oversee development pipelines, and translate scientific concepts into workable solutions.Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and deliver multiple projects on time and within scope.Advanced degree (e.g., MSc or PhD) in a relevant field such as Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline is highly beneficial.Experience leading R&D in biotech, life sciences, or related industries, ideally within molecular or cell culture domains.Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex scientific information clearly to diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site leadership with remote collaboration.Familiarity with quality standards, regulatory considerations, and laboratory best practices in R&D settings.
