Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout Asha HealthAsha Health is building an AI OS for outpatient care. It’s the year of AI agents, and startups selling AI agents to healthcare organizations will do great in this wave. While we’re rooting for them, we’re building what comes after. We're backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, 186 Ventures, Reach Capital and many more. We raised an oversubscribed seed round from some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. Our team includes AI product leaders from companies like Google, physician executives from major health systems, and more.About The RoleWe're looking for a Head of Engineering, AI to lead our currently (and hopefully always) small engineering team and also be a high-output IC at the same time.Is this role for you?We want to take a bet. We’re not looking for seasoned engineering leaders. We’re looking for someone incredibly ambitious, who has maybe never even led a team before but for that very reason is ready to give it their all to step up to the challenge. You’d be engineer #5. You’d be both an IC and a team lead and work directly with our CTO. Lot of ownership; potentially rapid career growth. Think you could be our Tibo? The math: cash comp on par with growth-stage companies, but equity substantially higher. Does the upside justify the risk for you?Passion matters. Healthcare isn’t just inefficient; it’s a catastrophe. Think you got a bone to pick with it?We're building a moonshot. Most AI healthcare startups are taking strategic, measured approaches. We’re rooting for them and think they'll do great in this wave. We're building what comes after. Does that scare you or excite you?At Asha, engineering is the #1 lever. We can’t keep up with sales, and we have contracted ARR piling up. Unlike most of the healthcare market, engineering (not sales/gtm) is the biggest lever to pull. This might be you if:You're a builder at your core: a strong engineer who can understand users, make product decisions, and ship without needing a PM to define every step. You know you're good—and want significantly more ownership than your current role gives you.You want to lead. Maybe you haven't managed a team before, but you're hungry for the opportunity to prove you can in addition to being a strong IC at the same time. You're excited by healthcare, rapid career growth, or ideally both. This probably isn't you if:You're primarily looking for a comp increase. There are much easier ways to get one. You're optimizing for predictability or work-life balance.RequirementsGraduated with a bachelors in computer science or related degree.Very strong backend experience, preferably in 0-1 or 1-10 environments.Worked at a startup (Seed - Series E) before.Must be ready to work in person in Manhattan, New York 5 days per week in person but 6 days per week total.Bonus:Built and scaled your own projects to significant revenue.Understanding of US healthcare/health-tech.
