Head of Engineering and Architecture

We are partnered with an established financial services entity playing a pivotal role in regional capital markets. They are seeking a technical leader to spearhead the engineering strategy, core systems architecture, and modernisation of mission critical post-trade and transaction platforms. This role bridges deep hands-on technical architecture with high level technology strategy, driving modern modular transformations across high-availability financial systems. Key Responsibilities:Lead the end-to-end technical architecture and software engineering roadmap for proprietary enterprise-scale transaction and settlement platforms. Champion enterprise-wide DevOps, CI/CD, and QA automation practices to optimise modern SDLC standards. Guide architectural modernisation initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to modern, modular, cloud-ready designs. Scale and mentor high performing in house development teams while managing key vendor delivery relationships. Drive technical innovation through pragmatic adoption of emerging technologies such as distributed ledger technology (DLT), AI, and zero-trust security frameworks. Requirements:Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 15 years of software engineering and IT leadership experience delivering high-throughput, enterprise-scale platforms. Proven track record in post-trade processing, custody, asset servicing, clearing, settlement, or SWIFT/market connectivity protocols. Strong expertise in distributed architectures, high-availability transaction processing, memory management, and modern modular designs.
