Head of EngineeringEastern Province, Saudi Arabia | Full-timeWe are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering consultancy and design function, serving as the senior technical authority across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. This is an advisory and design leadership role — not a general management position.The role is responsible for providing engineering consulting services to our group's operating entities, charity projects, and stakeholders, as well as supporting operations with technical oversight on fit-out, renovation, and maintenance projects. The Head of Engineering also oversees offshore CAD drafting and interior design resources, manages the department's document control function, and ensures all engineering deliverables meet quality, regulatory, and client requirements.Key AccountabilitiesEngineering Consultancy Provide civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering consulting to group entities and stakeholders. Conduct site assessments, feasibility reviews, and technical evaluations. Act as owner's representative in dealings with external engineering offices and contractors.Design & Drafting Management Oversee production of engineering drawings, AutoCAD drafts, specifications, and design packages. Manage and coordinate offshore CAD and interior/landscape design resources. Review and approve all drawings before issue. Maintain structured document control through the Admin Assistant / Document Controller.Technical Support to Operations Provide engineering guidance to the operations team on fit-out, renovation, and maintenance projects. Review project scopes, specifications, and technical requirements. Advise on material selection, construction methods, and engineering solutions for complex issues.Quality Assurance & Standards Establish and enforce engineering quality standards, drawing conventions, and specification templates. Ensure compliance with Saudi building codes, municipal regulations, and industry standards. Conduct periodic deliverable reviews for accuracy and compliance.Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and evaluate in-house engineers and the offshore design team. Manage workload allocation across consulting engagements, design work, and operations support. Identify training needs and participate in engineering recruitment decisions.Reporting & Coordination Prepare monthly engineering activity reports covering ongoing projects, resource utilization, and deliverable status. Coordinate with the Operations Manager. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Support business development proposals and client presentations.Other Perform any other duties reasonably required by the General Manager consistent with the scope of this role.CompetenciesCore: ▸ Civil Engineering — Strong expertise in civil design, structural assessment, and construction supervision ▸ Multi-Discipline Knowledge — Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems ▸ AutoCAD & Design Tools — Proficiency in AutoCAD; ability to review and approve technical drawings ▸ Building Codes & Regulations — Familiarity with Saudi building codes and construction standards ▸ Project Technical Oversight — Ability to provide guidance on fit-out, renovation, and maintenance projectsSoft: ▸ Leadership — Proven ability to lead a small, multi-discipline team including remote/offshore resources ▸ Communication — Ability to explain complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders ▸ Organizational Skills — Strong document control instincts and deliverable tracking ▸ Problem Solving — Practical, solutions-oriented approach in a resource-constrained environment ▸ Collaboration — Ability to influence through expertise rather than hierarchyJob SpecificationsIndustry: General Contracting / Facility Management / Engineering ConsultancyExperience:▸ 10 to 15 years in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role▸ Experience providing engineering consultancy across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines in a contracting or facility management environment▸ Proven experience managing engineering design teams, including offshore/remote resources▸ Familiarity with fit-out, renovation, and maintenance work in commercial and industrial facilities ▸ GCC experience preferredEducation: ▸ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline▸ Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent is preferred▸ Master's degree or professional certification (PMP, LEED) is an advantageLanguages:▸ Arabic — Native▸ English — Advanced proficiency
