Head of Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing ToolsLocation: Sydney, NSWA well funded, fast moving deep tech hardware company is hiring a Head of Engineering to own development of its manufacturing tool from the ground up.The RoleLead engineering delivery of a complex manufacturing tool spanning mechanical, electrical, software, controls, process, metrology, fluid delivery, and automation subsystems.You will:Translate company goals and technical vision into engineering plans, milestones, resourcing, and delivery schedulesOwn key technical decisions across tool design, fabrication, integration, testing, and productisationReport delivery status, risks, and trade offs to the executive teamOversee design and integration of all critical subsystemsManage critical suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractorsHire, mentor, and grow a high performing engineering teamSet standards for engineering process, technical discipline, and accountabilityDrive fast but rigorous development cycles with strong documentation and data driven decisionsAbout YouHave independently led engineering teams delivering complex precision manufacturing tools or equipmentCan turn ambitious technical goals into realistic plans, milestones, and risk registersExperience delivering hardware systems on aggressive timelinesBroad technical fluency across precision manufacturing processesExperience with precision motion, sensing, control, metrology, or industrial automation systemsHands on with the technical work, senior enough to lead through people and processStrong communicator across executives, engineers, partners, and customersDesirableTrack record taking tools from concept to prototype to volume productionExperience with high throughput processing, precision alignment, or advanced material handlingExposure to complex electromechanical or process equipment developmentExperience scaling teams from informal to structuredBackground in customer driven product environments, not just researchPlease reach out to seb@profoundpeople.com.au for more info
