Head of Engineering-Delivery Manager

About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering / Delivery Manager to lead our software engineering organization and drive the successful delivery of strategic technology platforms and digital initiatives.This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle, engineering excellence, technology innovation, and delivery effectiveness across multiple business-critical platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering strategy, building high-performing teams, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions that support business growth and digital transformation.Reporting directly to the Technology Director, you will lead cross-functional engineering teams covering Channels, eCommerce, Physical Acceptance, Enterprise Solutions, Billing, and Integration.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the engineering strategy aligned with the organization's technology roadmap.Lead and inspire software engineering teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure solutions.Establish development standards, engineering governance, and best practices across the organization.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Own the successful delivery of technology initiatives within scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations.Manage the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development practices.Oversee release planning and production deployments while ensuring operational stability.Review and approve solution architectures, technical designs, and development deliverables.Ensure platforms meet the highest standards of availability, scalability, performance, and security.Lead modernization, automation, and technical debt reduction initiatives.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to support business objectives.Collaborate closely with Product, Demand Management, Infrastructure, Operations, Information Security, and Business teams.Manage engineering workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity management.Establish KPIs, service-level objectives, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.Provide executive leadership with regular updates on delivery performance, engineering health, risks, and roadmap progress.Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and organizational standards.Lead incident review processes and implement preventive and corrective actions.Manage vendor relationships, procurement activities, budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives.Job Qualificatins15+ years of experience in Software Engineering and Technology Delivery.5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.Proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise applications and digital platforms.Strong experience in Agile software development and technology transformation initiatives.Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex programs in fast-paced environments.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Master's degree is a plus.Preferred CertificationsAWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud CertificationsTOGAFPMPScrum Master / Agile CertificationsDevOps CertificationsTechnical ExpertiseSoftware Architecture and Distributed SystemsCloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Microservices and API ArchitectureDevOps, CI/CD Automation, and Release ManagementContainerization and Modern Application PlatformsDatabase Technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL)Cybersecurity and Secure Software Development PracticesEngineering Capacity Planning and Resource ManagementHigh-Availability and Mission-Critical Systems
